Want to chat live online with others in Wayne County? Join our Slack. More info:
Since 2016, I’ve been experimenting (again) with having a live chat for the Richmond and Wayne County, Indiana area. The hope is that it will complement in-person interactions with opportunities for conversations to continue around certain topics, tools for sharing links/documents/resources, and the ability to communicate asynchronously when a meeting/gathering isn’t necessary.
You can sign up by visiting slack.richmondmatters.com.
We’re using Slack to facilitate this chat; in addition to accessing the chat through a web browser, there are free apps for the desktop and mobile devices.
Once you’re in, you’ll be put in a few default channels where the conversation has already started. From there you can join other channels, start a new channel, or send direct messages to other people on the chat. For example, if you’re a member of a local not-for-profit organization’s board of directors, you could create a private channel for chatting with your fellow board members in between meetings.
We expect everyone joining to follow our Code of Conduct. Anyone displaying unacceptable behavior will be asked to leave.
